Wei-Tao (Joey) Chang

Award for Residentship and Clinical Research

(Small Animal Respiratory Medicine & Integrated Cardiorespiratory Care, 2021/8 ~      )

Wei-Tao (Joey), Chang was born and raised in Taiwan. He obtained his DVM degree from National Taiwan University in 2021. Joey has received an award for residency training and clinical research from TACS-Alliance Research Center and is currently a PGY resident in Small Animal Respiratory Medicine/Integrated Cardiorespiratory Care. He is enrolled in a training program under the categorical training track (small animal internal medicine with a focus on subspecialty respiratory and cardiovascular medicine) at National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital and allied specialty networks. He also participates part-time in a research project supported by National Science and Technology Council, Taiwan. His particular research interests include pulmonary function tests, clinical trials, echocardiography, and therapeutics of respiratory disease in dogs and cats. Outside of work, he loves to spend his spare time with his two dogs, Ralphie and Lumi, and is inspired daily by them.

Chi-Ru (Roo) Chen

Award for Residentship and Clinical Research

(Small Animal Respiratory Medicine & Integrated Cardiorespiratory Care, 2022/9 ~    ) 

Chi-Ru (Roo) Chen is a first-year resident (PGY1) in Small Animal Respiratory Medicine/Integrated Cardiorespiratory Care. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and was granted a residency training and clinical research award from TACS-Alliance Research Center in 2022. Roo is currently involved in the training program under the categorical training track of small animal internal medicine at National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital and allied specialty networks, which mainly focus on the subspecialty of respiratory and cardiovascular medicine. Aside from her residency training, Roo also engages part-time in a research project supported by National Science and Technology Council, Taiwan. She's especially interested in the application of digital stethoscopes in small animal respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. With her passion for her beloved dog and all the other small animals, Roo is dedicated to providing high-quality care to her patients and advancing the field of veterinary medicine through research.

Younjung (Kelly) Chang

Award for Clinical Research (Cases of Aortic Insufficiency), 2022/8 ~ 2023/2 

Younjung (Kelly) Chang was born and raised in South Korea and acquired DVM degree at National Taiwan University in 2022. She received an award for clinical research and training from TACS-Alliance Research Center in 2022. Kelly participated in clinical research and short-term training on small animal respiratory and cardiovascular medicine during Aug 2022 - February 2023. She studied basic knowledge of clinical trial, echocardiography, and cardiovascular/respiratory diseases. During this period, she worked with her colleagues in Clinical Service of Respiratory Medicine & Integrated Cardiorespiratory Care at National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital and allied specialty networks. Her clinical research focused on reviewing cases of aortic insufficiency, discovering the underlying cause and consequence associated with non-infectious and non-congenital cases. Apart from her career, she loves learning foreign languages and can speak Chinese, English and Spanish besides her mother tongue, Korean. Using her language skill, she enjoys traveling around the world and broadening her view. Currently she is learning art to capture beautiful moments on her sketchbook while traveling or in her everyday life.
